FISHING Loch Tay is one of the best known spots in Scotland for all kinds of sport fishing, especially salmon and trout. We can offer tailor-made packages to suit your needs, from accommodation-only to fully-inclusive holidays, covering accommodation, meals (including packed lunches) boats, guides\ghillies and a fishing pool and/or permits. The hotel has just purchased a great pool on the Lochay for salmon and trout fishing. The season begins on January 15th and there are three rods available on this beat. The beat has not been used for many years but the salmon count on the Lochay is always good. Fishing equipment will need to be supplied by the user. The season ends mid October. HORSE RIDING A fantastic horse riding experience is available at the nearby Mains of Taymouth Stables at Kenmore. WINTER SPORTS There is great cross country skiing available between Ben Ghlas and Ben Lawers with equipment for hire from the Killin Outdoor Centre and Mountain shop in the village. Less than an hours drive from Killin, downhill skiing can be enjoyed (weather permitting) at Glencoe and the White Corries. Ice climbing is popular during the winter but is also available indoor year-round at a number of locations locally, including Callendar. Expert guides and training are available. WATER SPORTS There are a number of water sports activities in the area. You can sail and canoe on Loch Tay (boats available from the Killin Outdoor Centre and Tay Highland Lodges. Alternatively, Scotland's National Watersport Centre is located on Loch Earn, just 10 minutes from Killin where you can get tuition in Canadian and Kayak canoeing, water-skiing and wake-boarding at the British Water-Ski Association approved water-ski school.
